I love to walk around with open eyes and an open heart, get inspired by flora & fauna, textures, the Renaissance or may be through emotions, sexuality. Inspiration is everywhere. This inspiration finds itself again in my paintings and last but not least in my stationery suites. Connecting your wedding invitation with emotions, with love & joy, is a matter truly dear to my heart.

my core values
my work & The Nature
SHALL I TELL YOU SOMETHING?
My main goal is to create wedding invitations & products, so valuable & special, that they will decorate the walls of my clients and their beloved ones one day. Or get preserved as a heirloom & keepsake in the most beautiful box they could ever find.
Everything I sell is made as eco-friendly & sustainable as possible. Scroll down for further informations about that topic.
Every design, every piece of art I create is made with special attention to aesthetics & refinement. Everything is made with a lot of love for details and high standards.
Everything calligraphed, painted & drawn element you can find on my products, my stationery, is made by me, Zarah. That way every single order gets its personal touch.
I totally love the raw beauty of nature – portrayed by handmade paper and more – for that distinctive charme.
Lean back and enjoy. Say goodbye to stress & effort: Atelier Zarah combines an easy ordering process with awesome results.
My choice of distinguished partners, like printing offices, help maintain my high quality and sustainable demands.
Here in my studio in Trausdorf, Burgenland, in the eastern part of Austria, every piece of my work is being created. It’s full of antiques, olive trees and a hodgepodge of nostalgic calligraphy nibs, real feathers and dried flowers. Sometimes it makes me feel like being transferred back into earlier times...Maybe we’ll get to know each other soon and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea together? Here in my atelier?

In 2015 I started my business as graphic designer and artist. At this time I mostly sold my sketchy drawn portraits. Against the common style of caricatures my core value was to show the most beautiful side of the portrayed person. Not that double chin or the crooked nose, the person feels uncomfortable with. (I know what I’m talking about. All my hands up fort hat double chin club! Haha) I guess everyone of us has already seen a portrait artist working and thought like „...I’m not sure if the lady loves this version of herself?!“ Exactly that situation – can not come up with my portraits.
My art stands for aesthetics & realistic dimensions, similar to the old painters of Renaissance.
I want to bring that smile to the faces of my clients and their beloved ones. Give joy. Create awareness for the beauty. Create analog things that will be honored as a family keepsake.
That’s why I've never stopped improving my art skills and regularly take part on private art lessons held by my maestro Michael Fuchs (son of the famous artist Ernst Fuchs). He teaches me the old technique of oil painting used by masters like Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo. There was a time in my life when I didn’t stand up for that passion of mine. I didn’t allow myself to enjoy art as much as I truly do.
But now I’m standing here, in my tiny atelier, and I’m more thankful than ever, that I have already made so many people happy – with my handcraft, my art and that so many of my portraits decorate the walls of families.
That’s how my love for Fine Art was born. Fine Art as artwork itself and Fine Art as well as style direction for my wedding invitations and stationery. Fine, full of details and romantic.
...Maybe I’m allowed to portrait you and your better half soon? I’d be more than delighted.
That’s why I want to encourage you: If you feel that deep passion inside you – go for it. You won’t regret!
Wall color, decor or ink.
Chateaus or Sight Seeing Spots. Love it!
Marmande & Mirabell. Oh those names!
And my beloved Alvi obviously!
Since 2008. Never without.
I want to make you happy – in a sustainable way. I wan’t to create joy in your hearts, not just because of nice design, but because of the green thought behind it. Doesn’t it feel amazing to do something good? Like, really good?!
AFTER MANY HOURS OF THINKING I CAME UP WITH TWO IDEAS HOW TO WORK ECO-FRIENDLY AS A STATIONERY DESIGNER, WITHOUT LOOSING ELEGANCE OR LUXURY:
Printing colors of natural origin (soy origin)
Naturally dyed silk ribbons and twine
Products that can be used in many ways/situations as a conservation of resources (and conservation of budget too)
Donation to an environmental organisation with every order
with every order
Trees will be planted with every single one of your orders! Depending on the job volume one or more trees are planted by „plant for the planet“, a students initiative that strives to work against global warming and the climate crisis. You can find out more about that project on their website. It’s amazing!
PS: I know that I’m not perfect and that there are more ways to improve my work in a sustainable, eco-friendly or green way. But I’m trying my best and I don’t stop to improve. I take small steps every day. For example, I’m now looking for naturally made sealing wax with beeswax as a basis.
